Unite the Hearts is a way of expressing the principle of the oneness of humanity.

This unity implies a cherishing of the natural diversity of temperament and talents among individuals as well as humanity’s varied races, creeds, classes and cultures. All can contribute to the human family’s progress and well-being. It is the responsibility of all of us to promote the advantage of the whole of mankind. It is toward this goal of unity that the Bahá'í community has been working for over 150 years.

Bahá’u’lláhs assertion that the earth is but one country and mankind its citizens is today demonstrated by the emergence of the Bahá'í world community, which serves as concrete evidence that the human race in all its diversity can learn to live and work together in harmony.

There is a growing sense of an impending change in society. It is clear that we have lost a balance between the material and spiritual aspects of life. Feelings of fear and uncertainty are often part of our quiet moments. The Bahá'í community, through this programme, is making a contribution toward restoring the balance. There are three elements to the programme.

At the core of life is that mystical link that binds us with our Creator. To this end we have established multi-faith Devotional Gatherings. The readings and prayers are taken from the great religions, or can come straight from the heart. The gatherings are attended by people of different nationalities, races and religious backgrounds. These gatherings are to foster and celebrate the oneness of God, religion and humanity.

Next, we are offering Children’s Classes. Developing and strengthening the moral values of a child is the key to the child’s happiness and society’s stability. Virtues (such as honesty, kindness and trustworthiness) are common to all religions, and these virtues are the basis of the classes.

Finally, we offer programmes of spiritual development called Study Circles. The first of these, entitled Reflections on the Life of the Spirit, offers a way of strengthening our spiritual convictions which then find expression in service to humanity.

These programmes are being established around the country and indeed the world. In Ireland they are now being launched in County Meath. Further information on the three elements of the Unite the Hearts programme in County Meath click on the icon for the related brochure.
